CLEANWALK.ORG: A CITIZEN PROJECT

Lakaa's story began in 2019, with a citizen project: the creation of Cleanwalk.org by the future founders of Lakaa - a platform dedicated to associations and citizens to help implement awareness-raising actions on the theme of waste. In 1 year, the platform will mobilize tens of thousands of citizens around actions all over France.

THE BIRTH OF LAKAA

In 2020, Lakaa was created, initially around an event-based offering: the organization of awareness-raising actions on environmental issues for corporate employees. The actions organized (cleanwalks, climate frescoes, permaculture initiation, etc.) are always organized in conjunction with local associations, which raise awareness and receive part of the revenues generated by Lakaa. This offer will be discontinued in 2022, but it will have supported Lakaa during its first years.

PIONEERS IN OBTAINING B-CORP

Right from the start, Lakaa took steps to obtain B-Corp certification: an internationally recognized label certifying companies committed to the common good, under different pillars: governance, communities, environment, customers, etc. In 2020, only 150 companies in France held this certification.

THE LAUNCH OF THE LAKAA PLATFORM

After 6 months of co-construction, the Lakaa platform has officially been deployed at the first company: Carmila, a network of 90 shopping centers in France. The Lakaa platform's mission is simple: to help report on all CSR actions carried out locally, and to facilitate the transition to action in the field.

2022

THE LAKAA TEAM GROWS

Thanks to the signature of its first customers (Carmila, SNCF, Leroy Merlin, emeis and Business France), Lakaa was able to recruit its first employees and gradually build a solid team around strong values: initiative, autonomy, rigor & responsiveness, authenticity, enthusiasm & conviction.

THE CHOICE OF SELF-FINANCING

Lakaa chose to build the company on a self-financed business model, to create a structure with strong financial stability from the outset, and to retain a high degree of autonomy in the vision given to the company. Lakaa grows with and for its customers.

2023

SUCCESSIVE DEPLOYMENTS

On the strength of the excellent results obtained with its first customers, Lakaa is now deployed in numerous companies throughout France: JOA, BigMat, Intersport, Weldom, Mondial Relay, Socoda, Elior, and many others. Sectors and use cases are diversifying, and local teams continue to be highly mobilized.

LAKAA RECOGNIZED BY ADEME

At the beginning of 2024, ADEME published its ECOTAF report, a study of ecological employee mobilization schemes. Lakaa is identified in the report as one of the benchmark schemes, with a very strong impact on the transformation of professions at the heart of companies. An excellent recognition for all the work we've done.

ACHIEVING PROFITABILITY

At the end of 2024, Lakaa officially announced that it had reached profitability, proving the sustainability of the self-financing model chosen at the outset. This profitability gives the company greater room for maneuver in the future, enabling it to invest in expanding its offering to meet the needs of companies deploying their CSR approach locally.

VISION 2030 - A NEW CYCLE BEGINS

After a first 5-year cycle (2020 - 2024) which enabled Lakaa to achieve profitability, with a self-financing model, and very strong results on the transformation of business models, Lakaa officially launches its second cycle at the beginning of 2025. This new 5-year cycle will take the company through to early 2030, with the aim of multiplying Lakaa's impact on a much larger scale.
